How to Care for your Furniture

We hope you enjoy your beautiful solid wood furniture for many years! Our tables are built to last and should need minimal maintenance.

We recommend using a damp (not wet) cloth or mild cleaner to wipe the tabletops. Strong cleaners may break down the oils over time so should be avoided. Do not allow liquids to sit on the surface for periods of time.

For the first 2-3 weeks of use we recommend extra care is taken with the surface whilst the oils fully cure.

Our table bases are finished with professional quality low sheen eggshell paint. This is a durable finish which can be wiped clean.  Touch up pots for scratches are available in our online shop.

Tabletops are finished with Osmo Polyx hard wax oil, the best selling wood finishing product in the UK. This is a breathable but fully protective finish that is very resistant to water, dirt and heat and lasts 3-5 years if not longer. It will not crack, peel or flake.

Although the hard wax oil finish is very durable do bear in mind that all wood is liable to be scratched or dented but this may simply add to the charm!

Light Antique finish tabletops are a mix of approx 80% ‘honey’ and 20% ‘terra’ for the base coat with a top coat in clear.

Dark Antique finish tabletops are a mix of approx 20% ‘honey’ and 80% ‘terra’ with a top coat in clear

Natural tabletops are finished with a light once over of honey then one coat of raw and a top coat of clear.

Sachets and different sized tins are available to purchase from various online retailers.

Please contact us if you need advice. Osmo polyx oil is also completely child and pet safe!
